Growing up in Texas, I initially dreamed of pursuing a career in the NFL, playing football both in high school and college. However, my career plans took a turn, leading me into the world of private security and the night industry. While you learn a bunch working right out of high school, security was not sustainable nor my life calling. After completing my premedical prerequisites, I decided to pursue medicine, becoming the first physician in my generation. Throughout medical school, I had the opportunity to experience different medical settings all over the country while doing my preclinical and clinical clerkships, including Alabama, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
My initial interest in pulmonary/critical care medicine led me to choose internal medicine at MSU. At the end of my PGY2 I made the decision to transition to a family and social medicine residency with the support and guidance of my program director. I completed an additional year of PGY2 and PGY3 at Montefiore in NYC. Providing social medicine to the underserved community in the Bronx, Montefiore has a strong emphasis on inpatient care. I enjoy the fast-paced environment of running rapids and codes and am ACLS/BLS certified. I have experience in placing central lines, arterial lines, intubations, and the occasional paracentesis.
After tentative board certification in mid 2025, I am excited to contribute my skills and southern charm to a hospital inpatient setting as well as outpatient direct primary care/clinical informatics!
